7th Pay Commission Reports are Out

Apparently, based on this recommendation, central government employees (civil servants, IS officers and professors of central universities like IITs / IIMs) may possibly witness a 30% hike in their salary. As per the report in New Indian Express, there is likely to be a five to six per cent annual pay hike of Central Government employees, which again is likely to be linked to tangible performance criterion.

Provision may be introduced for under-performers to be retired by 55 or 30 years of service. Looks like the Government is looking to model its organization structure with more and more focus on effectiveness and efficiency of output. These are somewhat in line with the best practices surrounding remuneration norms in the corporate.

An image captured shows some interesting promises in the context of scale revision.

While the government may modify some of the recommendations of the 6th Pay Commission, historical evidences highlight that most of the recommendations are accepted by the government.
